Yoyo with Clowns?

Post by Shakona » Sat Feb 24, 2007 2:28 pm

I have a 120 gln. tank with three Clown loaches and other community fish. I am wondering if I add one Yoyo loach will it school with the Clowns or be unhappy by itself? I want to move the Yoyo from another smaller tank into the large tank. I don't want to get more Yoyos to make a larger school due to other bottom dwellers.

That poses a bit of a dilemma. :? Being a shoaling species, keeping a single Yo-yo really is not fair on the fish. Solitary Yo-yo's also tend to become quite aggressive towards their tankmates too, another reason for keeping a shoal to disperse any possible nastiness, particularly in a peaceful community tank. You may find that it will swim around a little with the clowns, but it won't be truly happy and show totally natural behaviour without more of it's own kind.
