Hi Lee,
So sorry to hear about your loach. I'm not sure what to tell you, but there are many here who know much more than I do.
It might help the others make a diagnosis if you could post some more info.
When did you make the last water change, what is your pH, ammonia level, nitrite and nitrate level? When did you introduce the new fish?
What is your water temp.?
Anything that you can possibly think of to list will be a big help.
I hope this all works out well for you and your loach.

yes i love all of my fish i must have around 60! and a cry fish and shrimp etc , but that loach was 1 of my favourites as it wassoo energetic, and friendly i feel it may have been due to over crowding as i have a 4ftx1.5(height)x1ft and i have
sailfin pleac 14inch x1
4 corydoras
1 bolivian ram
1 crayfish
1 dwarf rainbow
1 long fin danio
1 silver shark
1 albino rainbow shark
2 3 spot gouramis
1 golden barb
1 clown loach
1
purple cichlid
4 zebra danios
3 xray tetras
10 characins
5 platies
1 upside down cato
6 gupies
1 shrimp(added today)
all of these have been living together perfectly and the lfs says thnat they should all be fine together as he knows the exact soze and species as i fink i have a few variations and maybe a few more fish than mentioned but im not sure that loach passing has made me ponder could it be due to over crowding i may try adding some to a seperate tank that i keep spare for my guppy and platy fry although it is probably much too big for that and going to waste, thanks again for your help
