cory and loach gravel, i'm so confused

I'm so happy with my plants because some of them, I am told, shouldn't have survived the 3 day priority mailing, especially survival in my tank without CO2. The pearlgrass is one.

My algae growth has skyrocketed after a large WC I did, which is cool because I ordered a bristlenose

Better yet, Sea Lab, or whatever the company is, that sells those drop in plant bulbs at the Walmart pet section sent me my replacements for the 'duds' I mailed them back.

And ALL of them are showing growth. I don't even know what to do with all of these plants but to leave some in the breeder tank for my guppy babies.

Is your tank half gravel half sand?
Mine's that way too, but left side is sand & right is gravel.
The loaches like to dart in the sand & eventually the sand on the left side is slowly making its way to right side of the tank.
I think you'll see that in your tank; the sand will slowly make its way to the back gravel area

Well I tried to be artistic and somewhat failed. I removed the gravel from the front each time I did a water change untl there was barely any left and I could see the glass, but left it on a slope in back. I added all the sand to the front until it was even wit the gravel, then what was left after that was used to sprinkle over the gravel.

A lot of sand moves into and falls within the cracks between each individual piece of gravel but my sandbed seems to still be the same depth. If it does sink noticeably or move to the back I'll just have to get another bag of playsand

Another thing I noticed is the sand tends to hold my plants a bit better than gravel, and in the back where its a combination of gravel and sand my plants RARELY ever get uprooted.
