Forum folk,
Sorry i've been off for a bit. The most ferocious Ich infestation i've ever seen, from a catfish purchased as a X-mas gift by well intentioned girlfriend.
Killed pretty much everything of interest- all loaches, knives, catfish, pleco, an angel, pipe-fish and a couple of gobies. Stunning. white cycsts were huge too, big like a pin-head.
....so i haven't had the heart to get back on forum.
Either way, a month of off-and-on malachyte green meds left all pipes and sealed tank edges blue-green tinted. What are my options for clearing this up?
Remove fish and bleach water? Cut out silicone and start again?
Options please.
Sorry if i'm on the wrong list for this question.

Really sorry to hear about your fish, Andyroo.
I wouldn't worry too much about the silicon being stained, I personally don't think it looks too bad when stained. Some of the pipework you could no doubt replace, but re-siliconing the whole tank would be a huge messy job. Then you'll be so annoyed if for some reason, after all that hard work, you had to treat again! I think I'd leave the silicon as it is, and remove and replace the pipework if it really looks too ghastly.
What are your plans, are you going to restock with loaches eventually?
