b. kubotai on sale!

Post by LUVaLOACH » Thu May 03, 2007 8:26 am

Hi guys, just wanted to give those of you who have a local PetSmart a heads up that they have the b. kubotai on sale again for $9.99. I have noticed they do this every 4-6 months or so. I was pleasantly surprised to see this so I snached up a few.

I was also SHOCKED to see Panda Corys on sale for $1.00. Of course the tank was empty. :(

FYI,
Kris

They are ok together, but IME they really don't socialize, and I have one exception to the OK: one of the kubs here does not like yoyo's. No real damage ever occurred, but it is rather funny to see a slim <3" fish chasing a fat nearly 4" fish, and he does it every day.... Kubs, or at least this one, can be very determined.

Incidentally, the price at a lfs here is $7.50, Kubs are around 2", and seem good. Their presence has been noted in my qtank since yesterday... so far they eat flakes and turn down frozen bloodworms and shrimp (?!). A bit unusual marking too, a couple fully lack the horizontal line, and they are not rostrata for sure.

Something tells me those C. panda were very small to be at that price. They are one the most popular corys people keep these days. I told you were to get some nice wild caught, healthy ones 8)

I agree. I kept yoyo's and kubs together for a long time, with no problems. Like what Mike said, they didnt really socialize. A while back something went through my tank and killed all my loaches, but one clown  Still havent figured out what it was. I re-did the whole tank and got 4 more clown loaches to join the one I had left. All is well now and they are growing quickly.

Mike, that is very stange they turn down the bloodworms. Mine went crazy when I fed them. They all tried to snatch it out of my hand before I could put it in the tank

I went to three Petsmarts in Atlanta today (i'm a slow learner), and Kubotai are $21.95 here. One store said they'd been on sale, but then shot up in price even more than they were originally. Anyway, I'm glad you you got them when you did!

Tell me.

All other Kubs I have (or had) go nuts, and have almost the same reaction to frozen shrimp. A few minutes ago, I saw one of these new things eating an algae wafer while a nice juicy bloodworm was lying next to it.

I think the stay at the store messed them up..hopefully it is fixable, they should be able to learn from other kubs.

As for socializing: yoyo's and zipper's seem to do this a bit. IMHO, it is a better combination that yoyo's+kubs, just provide more current and air to keep zippers happy.

How's this for a deal. Last month in all local Pets Unlimited stores they had a buy one get another for free sale. Fine, but then they put out another flyer with Clown Loaches $ 2.88 each CDN $ too. Wouldn't you know it, I was in the process of cycling my 75 gallon tank and could not buy any. Watched a guy come in store and he bought 12 for $39.40 taxes in. Now when I can buy them they are $ 12.95 or 3 for $ 35.50.

Bad timing or what??????
