Botia clicking noise?

Post by mistergreen » Fri May 18, 2007 7:20 pm

I just caught the end of an NPR story on fish communication and they found out that clownfish (as in Finding Nemo) makes the clicking noise with their jaw.
Not sure if this is how clown loaches do it. I've always been curious how my b. histrionica make their noise.

i found this article a while ago that suggests that a bony encapsualtion of the swim bladder, with holes in, leading to channels under the skin, could be part of the clicking process.
