Hi Chris,

Of course, I'm sorry, but this was not a surprise in any way.

I used Minocycline (M2) for BHS (red streaks), simply because I've used it in the past and it was effective. Was effective this time as well: no red streaks after two days, the loach with most of them died, the others cleared.

By that time it became clear that they also have Ich...I've suspected that they might and started treatment immediately, so another two days later I had no visible Ich, but another loach dead, the one I saw Ich on.

Why I lost two more in the next four days may be attributable to Ich: there might have been some still in gills I could not see and it does not take much to kill a hillstream. But why I lost the last one is a mystery, because the fish seemed stabilized after some more drugs and did ok for another ten days (but was not eating).

Incidentally, I rechecked the store situation as control: they lost most, the surviving (and still dying) fish were larger Beaufortia's (1.25"-1.5"), these are obviously much hardier. I'm not taking any.

Anyway, quite a lot learned in this episode.
