compatibility w/ plecos and cori

Post by pearllady » Tue Jun 12, 2007 2:24 am

I need to get a bigger tank 40gl for my little rubbernoe pleco and 4/5" brisstle nose pleco. They aree in a 20gl now with 2 coris and 3 smaller stripped loaches (for snail problem) . I have 2 butterfly hillstream loaches and a ottocinclus in a 10gl. Would they be be compatible together? :?:

yup... the little cat fish are sweethearts.
whatever the stripe loaches are, they should be fine too. They would enjoy the bigger space.

Hi Pearllady, and welcome to Loaches Online. :D

Are the striped loaches you mention Botia striata? http://www.loaches.com/species-index/botia-striata

Were you planning on merging the fish in the 10 gallon with the others listed there? If so, you might need a re-think as the hillstream loaches have very different requirements: http://www.loaches.com/articles/hillstr ... -fast-lane

Cories may like some current, but probably not as much current as a hill stream loach...
