I've never seen any fish swim like this in a tank before. Even in my old river tank they'd just swim in one place in front of a powerhead. Now they are truely swimming. They just keep doing laps and laps in schools around and inside the island. This tank really fits them like a glove.
I've had most of these clowns for awhile now. (1.5 to 5 years). That video was with just 16 clowns in the tank. I have more clowns to move to this tank yet. I think I've got 49 clowns total, so we've seen nothing yet. More video's to come.

Fabulous video, CK!
The tank looks great and they are obviously enjoying the flow very much. I see the same sort of thing in my tank, and although I already had a good amount of current in the tank, this behaviour has been so much more pronounced since adding the Tunze Turbelle Stream pump. You see them powering into the flow, then they will relax and let the flow take them back to the other end of the tank and then they start over again. The beauty of your set up is that it is a continuous circuit for them.

I just can't get over that video!!!!
I'm coming down to visit
Your only 6 hours away
Your tank is truely what we all look for in loach behaviour.
I loved watching the clowns pour out of the log and join the group at the "lower" end and then race up in a group.
I want to see if they will still do this long term (say in a couple of months). Older loaches tend to hide and maybe this tank is the magic cure.
Do you reduce the flow at night and/or have any real "dead spots" for the various fish to hang out in?
Once again the jaw hit the floor.
You have got to do a artical for LOL about that tank. Anyone second that idea?

drain your pool!
Thanks all.
newshound-
I think the clowns do seem extra perky. I hope it lasts.
I've been turning off the 1000gph pump at night. There is still some flow from 3 canister filters in the tank.
The center of the island is a low water flow zone, like a cove. There is plenty of room in there. The cove space is about 6ft long x 8" wide x 8" high .

The Boesmani do spend some time in there to get out of the river. There are also low flow areas around the roots.
