I used to keep these Loaches. (just been looking up old pictures) No idea what they where back then and the same applies now! :lol:

Either Thailand or Vietnamese. Interesting looking chaps never-the-less!

Hmm, interesting fish! My best guess, though not the correct one would be Schistura kohagenesis (not correct spelling). Although that is not exactly the correct identification thats what these photos remind me of.

I know what you mean Mike. I think you had one with a longer secondary name though? I also cant remember it. :?

Going by "Fishes of Laos" that first fish looks very much like Schistura xhatensis, "Freshwater Fishes of Central Vietnam" has a fish with similar looking markings on it called Schistura thanho but that has a red tail.

Cant help on the second one :?

Good shout. Mark! The Schistura xhatensis does seem possible from the description on fishbase.

Nice fish Graeme ! they look a bit like a fish one of the local shops got in from Vietnam .
