I was looking in the river tank tonight and spotted a few babies among the cobbles. They can't be more than 4 or 5mm long. I thought i'd seen one a few weeks back, but couldn't be sure because it was immediately slurped up by a rosey barb. They've been chasing the new babies, but the babies are faster- so far, anyway
I got cheni fry! (now with pics)

Cheers everyone
I've got at least two or three in there, and I'm feeling quite confident about their chances. They've been out and about in the tank this afternoon, but they seem well aware of the other fish, and they're amzingly fast for something that small. One seems to have established a territory around a few cobbles piled up at the front of the tank, which is great- it's well sheltered and I can keep a good eye on him. The roseys don't seem to know the babies are there, but I'm thinking about moving them out whatever- if they eat the babies they'll have to go, and if they don't I'll need to make space in the tank.

I managed to get a couple of ok photos today as the babbies were playing right at the front of the tank. I saw three today, and they're being totally ignored by the other species in there, so I'm sure now they're big enough to be safe. One of the three is slightly bigger and has much better colouration, which makes me suspect they may be the result of two separate spawnings. The big guy's also been out a lot more- I've seen him nearly every day, but I've only caught odd glimpses of the others up to now.
The big guy. I'm fairly sure this is the one I've got photos of above:

One of the others:

I couldn't get a good comparison shot:

Sorry about the dirty glass, but I've been too paranoid about harming the fry to do any really vigorous cleaning lately.
