A few of the loaches that I am housing at the moment, some of these are pretty old, I really need to take some new ones.... Anyway here they are. Not the usual 'loach standard pictures' that is usually seen on here but they arn't blurry at the very least

Emma I bought them 2years ago before I moved to Wales. Loaches were hard to come by so when a guy said he could get 'red tail loach' I jumped at the chance to have a few, two at a time (I now have 6), but now I think its two stand out and look a bit different from the others

Hi Ashleigh, the reason I asked whether they came from us was because the tank that contained our Schistura obeini was next to the tank that contained Schistura nicholsi. Although all our stock tanks have coverslides, there are small gaps between the coverslides and the top of the upright pieces of glass that divide the tanks, which loaches in particular are very clever at crossing over. I had just wondered whether this had happened and some of your S. obeini were S. nicholsi escapees....

To be honest, I didn't even notice they were different species until at least a year after I had them
But if you are sure Schistura obeini are the two in that mix, one may very well have to even up the number of species (Im working on grrr tank species at the moment )

I wouldn't be sure unless they definitely came from our shop. There are so many species of Schistura of very similar appearance that a country/area of origin, ray counts and more are needed to be certain.

They look to be nice and healthy though, whatever their origin.
