Thanks Mike.

I'll scrap the bag idea. As for the size of the kubs, four are about 2 1/2" and one is just 2" TL. It is one of the larger ones who is suffering.
Another way you can try to handle the problem with ammonia: massive w/c using a mix of fresh water (25%-50%) and dirty water from an established tank. After the parameters equalize, you can safely do nearly 100% W/C.
(I did this once with 100% daily changes, feeding a 10g quarantine from 125g which only benefited from extra small changes; worked fine until the cycle stabilized).
This is an excellent idea. I'll be doing this as soon as it is daylight.

Just an update:

The kub's breathing has slowed since last night, not quite normal yet, but getting there. Perhaps he had a pretty bad ich infestation in his gills, and the high heat is doing the job.

He ate like a ravenous piggy this morning. I'm hoping for a full recovery.
:D

Ammonia is still elevated. I'll be doing a water change in the next hour.

Another update:
My loach is breathing normally now--as are all other tank occupants. He is active and searching for food. I am very happy.

I still have an elevated ammonia level, which has me stumped, but I'm using PRIME in the water and doing water changes.

:)
Thanks for the help!!
