Of the specimens left at the shop (which is still quite a few) some of them have grown quite large, others have hardly grown at all. The bigger ones look very similar to the Syncrossus cf berdmorei seen in Kamphol's pic in the Telling Tigers Apart article: http://www.loaches.com/articles/telling ... ssus-genus

I think you will find that they are identical with Ataran River S. berdmorei as I don't think they are actually from Laos but Myanmar!!!

Yes, these fish have been available again this year, and are still being marketed by the supplier as a new species. I have a few specimens left, most have grown well. They now look like S. berdmorei and the aggression is most definitely still there - they really need a 'Grrr' tank (i.e. an aquarium housing fish of the same nasty temperament).
