markings on dwarf loaches

Post by namal kamalgoda » Mon Sep 24, 2007 4:29 am

Hi Folks

My tank is more or less set up and I have 10 clowns, 6 yoyos, and 8 dwarfs. Last night I was unable to sleep and decided to take a look at my tank at around 12 mid night. I had put the lights off for the night and put them back on. I noticed that about half of the resting dwarf’s marking had become very pale. Initially thought they had died. But they got very active thinking there was food. But the markings remained pale. Today morning the seemed to have regained their marking. Is this normal? And what would be a possible explanation for this?
Thanks, will post some pictures once I borrow a digital camera.

A lot of fish species lose colour during darkness. This is absolutely normal with Yasuhikotakia sidthimunki.

Martin.
