I'm from Ohio.
I hope Petsmart's price are consistent nation wide.

The loaches are young, maybe 2 inches. I was looking for Khulis when I found these guys.. I'm not a fan of the horse face but I know a lot of you guys are.

They had them in my area the last time I was up there also. I'd have bought a few myself if I'd had room for them. Cute little guys! :D

How social are these guys? I did not think they really liked each other, but are fine with other species... Cute little guys, though. I rarely see mine, he (she?) hides a lot.

Horse Faced Loaches

We have them in the Tampa Bay area for $2.99 also. I have 4 1-inch HFL and 4 3-inch ones. I see them all piled up on each other or they are hidden in the sand, but they come out for worms, shrimp pellets and flakes. I have read they are loners and that they are grouping fish. I believe mine like to hang out together, so I am skeptical that they are loners. I also read that Dojos are solo fish. Mine are always piled on each other.

The small ones are certainly out more and hang out with my 2-inch Kuhli Loaches in the grow out tank. They are so small, they are almost transparent.

My PetSmart person actually told me that the HFL were dying in their tank, which really concerned me when buying them, but I have had no problems. The fish are active and healthy. I think the tiger barbs they had them with were stressing them out.

I never met a loach I didn't like. Even my skunks are fun and don't give my other fish a hard time. I do watch them constantly though. Just in case. :) Tanja.
