What age do Yoyo's reach adult length?
I have some yoyo loaches ranging in size from 1" to almost 2". Four of them grew from 1" to 2" over the last month while the last small one has grown only a little (maybe 1/4"?). I've read that botias that are collected smaller than 2" are susceptible to internal parasites. All of mine look healthy so far, and apart from the small one are growing quickly.
At what age will they reach their full length?

Yoyos are quite fast growers. Depending on the foods and maintenance regimen, it will vary.kb46 wrote:I have some yoyo loaches ranging in size from 1" to almost 2". Passion for loaches + Passion for snails = Irony
I've grown my yoyo loaches to 3-4 inches in less than two months.Rocco wrote:I would say, from the accounts of others, 5 months to grow to about 4" and then a year to get to it's full length.
But these are just guesses.

it will also depend on them having enough space to grow. if the tank is or has been too small, it will affect their growth rate.

K4:
To the best of my recollection mine went from:
1) very, very small (like 1") to 4" in approximately 3 months (please note that they had "plenty to eat" as they "cleaned up" a serious snail infestation as well as really enjoyed my home made recipes);
2) 4" to 5" in the next 3 months and
3) have gone to 6"+ over the last 9 months.
