Botia Striata with Clown Loach

Post by Ded1 » Thu Oct 18, 2007 1:52 am

I have find myself in an interesting situation. I have my five clown loaches, and i have stunned across a guy who wish to give me his two Botia striatas ( long story ).

I am wondering is there a chance these two species would shoal together, clowns accepting them as their own ?) any experiance with this kind of combination ?

Thanks in advcance.

The combo should be fine. I've never heard records of both sides being aggressive toward each other. I've kept clown loaches with several bottom dwellers, mostly loaches with no issues whatsoever. I have yet to find Botia striata however I'm planning to add them along with my clowns.:)

The Striatas will tag along but they will not officially "shoal " together. This is a fine combination though. I have had it for years.

I'm waiting for our local fishy guy to get his order of striatas. I've convinced him to get those instead of clowns.

Clowns-6 is a group and more is never too many, providing the aquarium is large enough.
