Dojo Companions?

I have 3 established dojos and 3 in quarantine. I have a 55 gallon, 4 foot long tank that was set up specifically so I can have dojos. Dither fish are danios and a few white clouds which I accidentally ended up with, a total of about a dozen dithers. I have read several times dojos prefer a bit cooler water and understand the danios do well in their temperature range also.

Do I have a large enough tank and is there any other peaceful loach species that would do well in this tank? Or is it better to keep it strictly dojos and danios? I would be very happy either way.. just wondering if there are any possibilities of additions or if it would be wise to not add any other species.

You could also have some rainbowfish like lake tebera rainbowfish.

I am going to be keeping my dojos with black lined loaches and any cobitis speceis if i can find some. I might also be getting some sinibotia but as mentioned in my thread, they prefer faster flowing waters.

Other fish could include oddessa barbs, peppered corys and some other barb species.

I was actually just wondering about other loach species. I wasn't sure if there were any that preferred the same temps as dojos. Black lined loaches? Do you have a picture and preferred conditions for them? Is a 55 gal big enough?

Other non-loaches for cooler tanks (min. 68*F)
Rosy Barbs
Pepper Cories, and a few other species
American Flagfish
Synodontis eupteris
Spotted Raphael
Danios (Zebras are one with the lowest temperature tolerance, Giant Danios need temps not lower than about 72* I have not checked other species of Danio)
Goldfish
Platies
A surprising number of Barbs and related fish.

Thank you Diana actually I'm just wondering about loaches. I am pretty happy with the number of dither fish I have in there now.

Everytime it seems like I look up another loach they prefer temps above what dojos prefer, but those black lined ones.. their temps are listed as lower if I remember correctly now. I looked up a bunch of species on loaches.com and really didn't come up with any small loaches that were ok in less than 74 degrees, except maybe those black lined ones (which are fantastic looking) but I'm not sure if my tank is big enough and if they'd get along with the dojos and danios I already have in there.

Part of the key will be to look for fish that come from farther North than average, and higher in the mountains.

Don't the Hillstream Loaches require fast moving water? I thought the dojos wanted medium flowing waters and that would be too fast for them?

Maybe it's wise to just leave the tank dojos and danios for now until I do alot more reading and learn more.

Hillstreams do need faster flowing water than dojos IMO.
