More clowns!!

Post by Icewall42 » Sat Nov 03, 2007 5:57 pm

I officially have a whole gaggle of clowns now. I know my pictures are terrible :( But I thought I'd share a couple anyway. If I could ever get a good shot, I'd also show a two-stripe clown that I picked up some time ago.

I'll take the best care of these cuties that I can, loachmom :) If you ever want to see later pictures of them, just let me know.

It looks like the one in the background on the first two shots is pretty big. Nice looking loaches.

Awwww. They are a handsome lot!

I have it on good authority that this bunch likes apples

We just got in the door after a wonderful day at Valley Forge after dropping off the clowns at Icewall's. How nice to already see pictures. :D

It was nice to meet you, Icewall, and I have no doubts that my clowns have a wonderful new home. :)

Thanks :) I don't know how you've trained these guys, but they were begging as soon as they got out of the bags ;) My three little clowns immediately schooled with them, too.

It was nice meeting you too! Thanks for the confidence :)

I'll try some apples with them ;)

Loachmom must have taken excellent care of them! they feel right at home now. They were all out begging this morning with my three little clowns, my supershy medium sized clown, and my two big oafs. Actually, they felt at home literally the minute I let them out of the bags (after an hour's worth of acclimation). They grouped up and started begging right in front of me! I fed them flakes and bloodworms, and they took them.

The other thing though is that they all have to accept Fornax, my 10" guy, as the indisputable alpha loach. So he's been snipping at a few of the new ones, presumably to show his dominance. Things seem to be settling down, though.

Sorry that they are all still rather fuzzy :( These guys just keep moving around, and I haven't figured out all of the settings on the camera just yet. The first picture shows my 10" guy, he's 11 years old, and freckle free! The others include the second oaf, 7", and the rest of the 12 clowns, including Loachmom's and my own little guys.

I love these new pictures, Icewall.

Your big guys are really impressive, and your tank is so colorful and pretty. It's nice to see everyone so happy and relaxed together.

I think that's your two-striped one that I see in the third pic from the bottom. Very nice!

wow excellent pics icewall. and loachmom took very good care of those guys. i love the double striped loaches you have. the colors look really good with your tank as well. all you need now is about 20 small striatas hovering around those guys and you will have a super solar system...lol :D

what type of fish is that large one on the left in the last pic with the blue head?

Thanks guys! Glad you like the tank. I actually have mostly silk plants in that tank now, because my two big clowns keep eating everything I try to put in there. I'm glad the silk plants are making it look nicer. I'll see how long they last ;) The last silk plant I had, had it's leaves ripped off a couple years after I got it.

As for the blue loach, that's actually an older modesta. His head is pretty bright blue, while his body is sort of bluish brown. He's probably....6-7 years old, and is also the alpha modesta. 3 other modestas are in the tank: a large one, and two smaller ones.
