Pierce,
I'm not sure that's fair. Ultimately he was just using loaches as feeders; something you and I would call deplorable on personal valuation grounds, but ultimately the knife didn't care, and in fact I'm sure they are more nutritious then comets.
From conservation-grounds it irks me as well, as these are likely wild-caught loaches filling in for mass-bred guppies/comets/earthworms/beef-heart.
But You-Tube is fill of far more ferocious and cruel feedings by an assortment of giggling/cackling mouth-breathers.
But, yes, posting this story to this group is reeeeeallly stupid.

the knife didn't know the difference, but the owner should have. I also think its different to introduce odd balls to the tank where the clowns have been living comfortably, and let them slowly get stressed out and picked off versus tossing a couple feeders in a tank every week. I don't think that feeding living animals to other animals is necessarily cruel, but the person who chooses to house these animals should do so responsibly, and with the least amount of suffering possible. yes, i know there are videos on you-tube of people feeding live mice and baby ducks to aros, but it doesn't make me feel any less disgusted by this case. I can't stand watching a clown get sick, let alone think about making the conscious choice to trap them in a little box with predators, watch their gills flap a hundred times a minute, grey out, hide wherever they could to get away, and slowly get picked off. i still think he's a monster, and should be ashamed to call himself a loach lover or say he rescued any of those fish.
Just call me Pierce :)

I think the main thing is like I said in my previous post. OP should have known better than to post something like this on these forums. Although this behavior may be acceptable in general it's highly frowned upon by loach enthusiasts. I think Mr. Poach got the picture since we haven't seen any responses from him for a little over 2 weeks.
