Hi everyone,
I'm looking to purchase some beautiful young Botia almorhae I spotted at my local fish store today but first I'd like some opinions on the number of fish I have in my tank. There is no rush on the sale because I'd like to make sure I can accommodate the new additions.
Currently I'm stocked with:
5 Chromobotia macracanthus (all young, couple inches at most)
5 Danios (also small, perhaps an inch)
1 Plecostomus
1 Pimelodus pictus
The tank is 55 gallons, medium-planted (in about 2 months it should have a rather large amount of plant cover once everything grows a bit). The filtration is a Filstar XP3 accompanied by weekly water changes of about 10-15%. I also keep provide additional circulation with an Aquaclear 50 (402).
Would it be possible to add 5 Botia almorhae to the current setup? I will be expanding to a minimum ~120 gallon tank sometime next year after I move from my current residence and I'm sure that will be enough room - but for now it'd be nice to have a couple more fish swimming around.
Thanks for any and all help!
Opinions on stocking 55 gallon (adding Botia almorhae)

With such small, young fish there is room for more. The problem would be when the fish grow, and something has happened to the big, new tank.
I do have Yoyos and Clowns in the same tank, and they are all around 3"-4". They do not hang out together.

38 tanks, 2 ponds over 4000 liters of water to keep clean and fresh.
Happy fish keeping!
