kuhli question

Post by Wendie » Sat May 06, 2006 10:53 pm

I just moved three kuhlis into an established kuhli tank. So far they are quite active and are out where you can see them. They've managed to get one of the older kuhlis to venture out more.

Two of these younger kuhlis are now fighting. They are following each other around and going at it. Biting, looping around each other, butting... I am wondering if the ones I already have in the tank might be females and these two are males fighting for dominance.

I've noticed that there has been some biting going on in the group before. Everyone will be eating and all of a sudden one will actually leap straight up almost like a kitten that's been startled.

This one is a 20 gallon tank. No apparent problems today... at least so far.
There are plenty of caves and hiding places and the tank itself is covered with java moss - about 1/2 the tank plus water lettuce.
