New Clown Loach Problem

Post by downwiththepc27 » Sat Feb 23, 2008 9:32 pm

I bought 3 small clown loaches 6 days ago. A I put them in a 20 gallon tank with no other fish (Yes I realize this will not be big enough). I have seen only two since then, and only when the light is off. The tank has two fair size pieces of driftwood with a fine gravel substrate, along with small java ferns. The ph is 7.0, and the ammonia and nitrite are 0. So my question is, is it normal for my fish to hide all the time? What can I do so that they come out more often? Will getting some more fish (ie tetras, danios, barbs) help as dither fish? Any suggestions for what I can do? (more hiding places, fish, etc?)

Thanks

It is normal for fish to be shy in the first week or two (some fish even longer)
I would use this chance while they are the only fish to treat for intestinal parasites.
38 tanks, 2 ponds over 4000 liters of water to keep clean and fresh.

Happy fish keeping!
