Kub Tank Setup

Post by Rychek » Wed May 21, 2008 10:57 pm

Due to a lack of space and the potential stock having ich, my plans for clowns have died a horrible, gurling death. However, I won't be detered from my loach addiction!

I currently have a 55 gal tank with the following:

Black sand
Marineland Magnum 350 canister
Marineland Penguin 160 Bio-wheel HOB (It's an old model, but works great)
5 Kubotia Botia
3 Pangio Oblonga
7 Pangio Myseri
5 Neon Tetras
3 Sword Tails
1 Otto Cat (I'm not sure what happened to the other one)
1 Blue Gourami

I know the Kuhli's and Botias don't make the best tankmates and I'm working on that situation. My question though is how many Kubotia can I reasonably keep in this tank?

Would a total of 10 Kubs be too many? Or perhaps 5 zebra loaches to go along with my 5 kubs?

I don't see a problem with 10, only the combo between the Pangio and the kubs. Knowing the kubs, they're really too feisty.:?

I'm working on getting the Pangios out. They would be much happier in a different tank.
