Id confirm please

I found this little guy alone at a regional fish store,, very heathly,, and
apparently uknown by the people working. They thought it was an algea
eater, but I think this is Cobitis choii.


The picture is not very focused,, i am working on getting a better one,,
but in the mean time here it is:



He is roughly 2", serpentine, has a faint brown lateral line coloration, with
barely visable verticle straitions, and a single black spot at the base of its
tail fin.

My guess at this stage would be a pale Nemacheilus selangoricus or N. platiceps. Any info on origin? Of course, more pics will help.

Thanks Emma and Thomas,

From the index pictures I would have to say it looks closet to N.
selangoricus. He has just come out of his "shell" and is out and about more and swimming all over in bursts.

I will attempt more pictures; now that he is out and about,, I should be able to get some in focus

I have no origin information, the store was oblivious it was a loach at all, lol. I just felt bad that he was all alone. I doubt I will find more where i am at since that is the first on i have ever seen.

He is the best picture to date he is very active even swims with the giant danios for a bit. He is a very good swimmer, but he mostly hides in the rocks.
