Do you have photos of these fish?

Post by MrC » Sun Aug 23, 2009 5:54 pm

Hello! Would anyone have quality photos of the fish below:

Chaca
Cynoglossus
Somileptus gongota

Purpose is to accompany an article on "ugly" fish in an online magazine. If so, please PM me. Thanks!

Shoudn't you ask for photo's of fish that are actually ugly?

Like lionhead goldfish, or artificial coloured fish.

Article says that controversial hybrids, etc will not be covered, that's a topic for another article. As for the lionhead, I'm more or less indifferent to goldfish.

"Ugly" is subjective, and different things to different people, hence the quotes around the word. I personally don't think Chaca catfish are ugly, but I am not so blind to the fact that some people will prefer other fish instead of it because of its morphology.

If I remember correctly the mooseface loach was said to be a loach "only a mother could love" in the book TFH put out on them a year or so ago.

Indeed......and the book was written by members of this site. The person you need to talk to is cybermeez. She is without doubt this site's best expert on their keeping and the one who's pictures are in "Loaches - Natural History and Aquarium Care".

Here's a Chaka......
