Pakistani Loach mysterious death

Post by samoht333 » Sun May 16, 2010 6:17 pm

Hi, I have kept my three pakistani loaches for more than six months and just last night and this morning, the largest and fastest growing of the three has died while the other two are crowding into the space behind the underwater filter and not coming out at all.

They live with 5 columbian tetras, 3 cories, a 6" pleco, 6 mollies, and formerly a 6" pictus cat. He also died last night with no apparent cuase, apart from being lonely?

Please help!

I have found Pictus Cats to be just a bit delicate, and can die for no apparent reason, or perhaps slight reason such as a minor variation in water quality.

To lose two established fish in succession suggests a common cause, for example, perhaps the water company made a change in the mineral level in the water, or added more chlorine than your regular dose of dechlorinator could handle.
38 tanks, 2 ponds over 4000 liters of water to keep clean and fresh.

Happy fish keeping!
