Borneo Sucker

Post by Pepperoni » Tue Jun 21, 2011 3:53 am

I want to add a Borneo Sucker to my liverbearer tank, which is about 7.4 Ph, very hard.

Loachesonline says they prefer 7.9-8.0PH water, however other sources say they prefer soft, low ph water.

Can anyone verify this for me?

Thanks

-Pepp

Edit: If anyone could recommend any other higher PH preferring loaches I would greatly appreciate it, thanks :]

Hi Pepp
first: loachesonline is listing the different species with 6.8-8.0
recorded are 6.0-8.6 in the field. mostly taken in the low water period as "snapshot".
I think 7.5 to be the limit as constant value for most species.
Hard water is a no go
Cheers Charles
