aeration

Post by fish » Mon Jan 08, 2007 7:02 am

hi guys, just joined after lurking for a few weeks. great advice dished out. on the topic of aeration; how is it that streaming bubbles through a tank doesn't give as much O2 content as surface agitation. surely its the same difference?

Aeration happens at the water surface. The combined surface area of all the bubbles is little compared to the surface of a tank.

The way a stream of bubbles helps is in circulating the water and continuously agitating the surface.
