and one question.

I have these 5 guys in a qt tank and they seem more playful than ever. They seem very healthy.

Should I wait to add these guys with the clown loaches until they get bigger?

3 biggest are 2" each. The two smaller guys are 1.5". I am afraid hey will be too small to swim around with the clowns.

Hi LO,

Those are very nice Striatas 8)

... in my set up, the clowns would be absolutely no problem, but varoius clowns may be a little different in behavior - that´s why I´m worried about adding some more clowns later on (they may not have the same gentle character) - currently they are the most gentle fish in the tank (even though they do cause some accidental "turbulences" sometimes, but much smaller loaches don´t seem to mind (in my case) and don´t show irritation - the small ones don´t hide) ... you know yours the best...

Well, all my clowns are very docile. I mean they do get hyper and swim fast across the tank but non violently. To me, it seems the striata are just as outgoing and friendly as the clowns. Its amazing how similar they act compared to the clowns. I catch them peeking out of their hiding spots looking at me all the time. I even caught them clicking when i gave them cucumber last night.

Even on the pics your Striatas show their lively side... I would "set´em free"... and keep an eye on how they are coping with getting "run over" by the clowns. The Striatas may escape quickly ... after a "get to know" phase they may not take it personal anymore, my small loaches hardly get out of the way, when a bigger one stirs up the sand... It´s different to getting chased, they quickly figure the difference...

...keep an eye on them though. Looking forward for updates.
